About The Client
Michigan Math & Sciences Academy is a nonprofit charter school that is managed by Concept Schools. This school specifically focuses on math, science, and technology education for grades K-12. In Michigan they have two locations in the city of Warren.
Project Overview
MMSA had been a long-standing customer with us prior to reaching out about this project in the summer of 2017. Their school was expanding, and they were looking for another local facility to occupy. Turns out the space they took over was an old Target retail store just north of 11 Mile Road on Dequindre. There was not only a tremendous wall area for a good size sign, but they also had a large 40′ tall pylon sign onsite which would need new Lexan panels with their school name.
In terms of the wall sign they were looking to have the logo and name, not overwhelmingly large but good enough to fit the general area appropriately and still maintain good road visibility. Their school colors were dark blue with a green and blue gradient ascent. With this color scheme it worked quite well with the light beige façade color the sign would be going on. When looking at the two design options in 1D, they looked the same, but they did have major differences in cost.
The Result
We wrapped installation of the wall sign and changed out the panels on the pole sign in the Fall of 2017 and the new campus identity was created. Michigan Math & Science Academies continue to grow and provide an excellent education to the local communities!
