About The Client

In 2018 K Heart & Vascular Institute moved to their new state of the art facility in Sterling Heights. Their practice offers services such as stress testing, echo testing, EKG, ABI, pacemaker/ICD checks, and much more.

Project Overview

One of the sign needs the institute brainstormed with our team on was an interior lobby sign. They had a logo already sketched up and were looking for the best option to fit the sign location and match with their office setting. We scheduled an onsite appointment for the next day to analyze where the sign would be going.

When you first walk into the office, the registration area was to the left. On the far back wall (within the registration area) was where the sign was to be placed. This location was certainly the best application for primary visibility to registrants as well as to those seated in the waiting area. Their office colors were neutral with light beige painted walls and dark stained cabinets. We took some onsite photos and few measurements, and then went back to the office to set up the drawings.

Being a professional setting and keeping with the neutral color palette, we provided options with the logo sign as individual black dimensional letters and white vinyl text copy on an acrylic panel. The look of the individual letters won out in comparison and that option was what we proceeded with.

We used 3/8” pre-colored black acrylic for the main text portion with a splash of red for the heartbeat portion of their logo. These letters were VHB tape mounted flush to the wall façade. Part of the installation process (illustrated by one of the photos) is the use of a thin plastic reverse cut stencil as a pattern. Once this piece is level and justified correctly, we light-tak tape it to the surface it will reside upon. This aids tremendously in ensuring all the letters are evenly placed and straight.

The Result

By looking at the completed install photo, the sign is just meant to be there and is not over-powering to the eye. The use of black acrylic in this instance as well as other professional business settings really can class up your space!
