About The Client
This came to us through a previous Dearborn school project, after years of cultivating a great relationship with one of the top construction companies in Metro Detroit. We were lucky enough to obtain the previous Dearborn project which consisted of us creating and installing new dimensional letters on three of their elementary schools. Adding on the dimensional letters for Crestwood High School Dimensional was just an awesome bonus.
Project Overview
Like all bid programs, the design is sent to us by the architect – we just have to figure out how to make and install it. Crestwood High School was looking to add a canopy to the front of the school to give it a more modern look. Everyone involved had decided halo-lit lettering would be the way to create this look. Halo-lit lettering is your basic metal dimensional letter during the day, but at night the letters are backlit with LEDs to create a halo look.
This project was one of our more complicated installations because the wiring had to be passed through the structure of the canopy 40 feet to the sign’s power supply. We had to use a larger gauge wire in order to make sure there was enough power to get to the letters, and there was no room on the canopy to house the power supply for the lettering. Our installers were up for the challenge and completed the task beautifully.
The Result
At the end of the day this was another great completed project between George Auch Company and Signarama. The school was excited to have this new entrance and halo-lit letters to see every day as they walk in. We can’t wait to do another project with them.
