About The Client
FK Engineering was established in 2012. Their team of engineers specializes in underground engineering with a strong focus on public works and industrial services all over the country. Over the years, Signarama has partnered up with them to outfit their building interior and exterior with several sign solutions for their Madison Heights location.
Project Overview
In 2016, Signarama’s relationship with FK Engineering began. Their central focus at that time was to produce and install a monument sign on their front lawn. We conceptualized a non-lit cabinet, painted metallic silver, with acrylic dimensional elements for their logo. This industrial look tied into their business aesthetic as well as what their building style was like.
From the first meeting we rolled out all the other action items that were to be coming up in the next few years – an interior lobby sign, etched glass graphics for conference rooms, office graphics, and an exterior wall sign. As we crossed off each of these needs over time, that last detail was the wall sign.
For the wall sign it was straight forward – there was no need have it light up, shimmer, or sparkle – it just needed to be their logo with good contrast to the grey wall façade. Our thought process was to produce non-illuminated ½” thick acrylic dimensional letters and logo. Their color scheme for logo portion was a green 2-tone and we determined through design to have the company name in white for best contrast and readability.
The Result
With acrylic letters such as this sometimes the simple look is the correct look. When looking at their building style, grounds, and other area surroundings, the overall look of their business is very cohesive.
