Introduction
Signarama Troy is proud to support the Troy School District’s Career Accelerator Program (CAP). This program is a valuable initiative designed to bridge the gap between education and the professional world. CAP provides high school juniors and seniors with invaluable mentorship and exposure to diverse career opportunities within the community.
CAP Overview
The Career Accelerator Program is a two-part program. First, students attend Career Accelerator classes, followed by a pre-internship experience. Approximately 60 students participate in the program each year. The school district carefully selects students who demonstrate ambition, focus, and a strong desire to learn.
Career Accelerator Classes
Three classes were held in January and February. These classes focused on developing essential professional skills. Students learned about professional appearance, body language, workplace greetings, responsible electronic use, and the art of small talk. Interactive scenarios with peers helped students practice these skills in a real-world context.
Pre-Internship Experience
These classes prepared students for a 20-hour pre-internship with local businesses. Students gained valuable hands-on experience and applied their newly acquired skills in a professional setting.
Signarama Troy’s Involvement
Signarama Troy is thrilled to be a part of this program. Bob Chapa, CEO/President of Signarama Troy, shared, “The students bring a fresh perspective and enthusiasm. We learn from them as much as they learn from us.”
Conclusion
The Troy School District’s Career Accelerator Program is a valuable asset to the community. Signarama Troy is proud to support this initiative and looks forward to continuing to mentor and inspire future generations of professionals.
