Today’s main focus routed signs and our in house router table. Router tables come in various sizes to accommodate different sized sign shops and ours happens to accommodate materials up to 53.5″ x 101″. Router tables can be used to do Push-through Letters, Engraving, ADA Signs, Channel Letters, Cut-to-Mask, Drilling, Reverse Carving and various other products.
Believe it or not people see routed signs every day such as Monument signs in front of subdivisions, dimensional letters for lobby signs, address plaques, etc. A routed sign starts its life as a solid piece of material and a cutter begins to cut away some of the material, and leaving other portions to create a 3 dimensional sign. Having a router table allows us as a sign shop to produce 1000’s of different designs with various different materials. If you need multiples of the same sign, a computer controlled router table allows us to make the all the exact same with some very tight tolerances.
Big or small let our experienced design and production staff here at SIGNARAMA Detroit manufacture your routed sign today!
Breitling has shared the finest hours in the conquest of the skies. A specialist in chronographs and technical watches, Breitling has succeeded at branding their insignia’s on a select few area fine jewelers here in Metro Detroit. Images of these finely crafted beauties are prominently displayed on the outside window of Lucido Jewelers in Sterling Heights and Mastercraft in Livonia. Unlike the fine technical devices provided by Breitling, these images use an incredibly low tech material called Window Perf.
The beauty of Window Perf (or perforated vinyl) is that it is incredibly low tech, comprised of 50% vinyl and 50% holes. Human eyes absorb light reflected from objects. When someone looks at the image on your window, their eyes absorb the light being reflected off of the printed image. The holes cannot be seen. The graphic looks like a solid image!
We like to think of it as SIGN MAGIC!
The sticky side of the graphic which faces the glass, is black. Looking out from the inside of a building or vehicle, your eyes absorb light reflected off objects outside, such as buildings, cars, trees, etc. Your eyes blend the black material on the inside with the images seen through the holes, creating the illusion that there is nothing on your window. The resulting effect will amaze you! These graphics apply to the outside of the window and will not effect, or be effected by window tints of factory window defrosters equipped on vehicles.
Contact SIGNARAMA to get your Window Perf installed, we love making magic happen for our clients!

Our topic of discussion today is about the uses of neon for signage. A quick recap of neon is a low pressure gas inside a glass tube with and electrode at each end of that tube. When high voltage is connected to the electrodes, it charges the gas to a point that it gives off light that can be seen.
There used to be a time when LED’s first hit the market that the material costs of neon vs LED, where neon would be the better choice. When LEDs first hit the market, they weren’t nearly as bright compared to neon as they are today.
Realistically there are only a few uses for neon in todays sign world, mostly for aesthetic. Lets say you are opening a 50’s style diner and want all the nostalgia to go with it, you simply cannot replicate the look and feel of neon with LED’s. Neon borders in bar/store front windows, Vegas style look of your location or an open face channel letter application are about the only other reasons I can think of to use neon for signage. The cost of trying to duplicate the look of neon with LED’s far outways the cost of doing it in actual neon in today’s dollars. As with anything, when the technology of recreating Neon with LED advances it will become cheaper therfore, LED would be the clear choice in the sign industry.
