The Signarama Troy staff worked with this school for over two years, working to find the best solution that was not only within their budget but also displayed the professional image they were after. The staff at the Academy were originally looking for a monument sign with a LED message center on the bottom, to replace the old sign in front of their building so they would be able to update the message on the sign on a daily basis. Unfortunately this was a little out of Academy’s operating budget for the school as it for many clients looking to update to a LED message center. Led message centers are simple the most technology advanced signage there is out right now and with that comes the price tag. But what if your budget doesn’t allow you to afford a LED message center? Here at Signarama Troy we don’t let that discourage us like most other sign shops, and we knew right away that we could help them build a sign that would stand out in a crowd as a high class sign.
We started with a heavy duty aluminum extrusion meant for a double sided light box and welded another aluminum box to the bottom to hold the changeable copy panel. We then fit it with a vandal cover made of clear lexan over the top of the changeable copy section to protect it from those pesky vandals. We added hinges and locks to the vandal cover and fit it flush with the top sign face for a very clean professional look. The sign then made its way over to our paint booth where it was painted with several coats of a custom burgundy paint we mixed in-house with our PPG Paint mixing station to match the vinyl on the sign face. Everything was assembled, But something was missing. We did not want the pole for the sign exposed on the bottom so we made a custom sign skirt printed to look like school books and bent to cover the steel pole. The Signarama Troy install team then took the sign to be installed, we cut the old sign down with the torch and had the new sign installed with in a couple hours. The customer was very pleased with the craftsmanship of the sign as it has totally changed the image and look of the school but still functioned like they needed.
